The best way to accomplish this is to use the Webmail Interface to compose the messages.

Otherwise make sure to have your outgoing mail server set as “mailhub.hpcisp.com” and to authenticate.  Use the same username and password as the incoming server.

Unfortunately, once a spammer gets your address they will sell it to others, especially if they have some indication that it’s an active account.  HPC’s Spam Filter checks each incoming message and blocks most spam.  However due to the enormous amount of spam that is out there, some will almost always get by.  One option that may help is to turn your filter settings up.  You can do this by logging into the filter on our website (Filter Log In).  Keep in mind you can loose legitimate mail if you make the settings to tight.

One of the best solutions is prevention.  Never, ever, give out your e-mail address unless you have to.

Unfortunately, there are lots of people out there looking to make money, and that’s the biggest motivator. The best suggestion is to use popup blocking software and regularly scan your PC for spyware and viruses.
